YOGA WORKSHOPS

Workshop 3/23/2024:

POSTURE CLINIC

This workshop is your 101 guide to inversions, headstands, lunges and other yoga poses by way of getting to know your line of gravity (LOG), your plumb line, your center. In this workshop we will learn all about lines of energy, feeding your body with breath and the fascia (connective tissue) that help improve postural alignment and mobility. With that knowledge, you can access postures with more diligence, awareness, sustainability and safety. This class is for all yoga practitioners and a great way to learn more about interoception which facilitates the practice of vinyasa.

THIS IS COLLABORATIVE INFORMATIVE SKILLS LAB WORKSHOP. IT IS NOT AN ADVANCED FLOW. ALL LEVEL YOGA PRACTITIONERS ARE WELCOME. BRING YOUR NOTEBOOKS, CURIOSITY AND QUESTIONS!

Workshop 4/13/2024:

ARM BALANCE FOUNDATIONS

Crow Pose, or Bakasana, is likely the first arm balance you saw, heard about or have been asked to try randomly in class. It is a pose that begins people’s interest in arm balances and from there stems a variety of crow variations. Crow may look easy, and some may argue that, but it demands mental and physical give and take until the perfect blend gives you that equilibrium, that sustainability. Arm balances is a skill, with knowledge of mechanics and body alignment, not just strength! In this workshop we will prepare our bodies physically and mentally to access crow, using all the props we need, and then allowing time for ourselves to play and explore. Shireena  curated a fun class filled with tips and tricks to help accessibility to crow with anatomy instruction, a warm up flow, drills, posture lab and exercises. This is an introductory workshop to yogi practitioners, with no pressure to excel in crow by the end of the workshop, but an intention to take your crow practice up one notch!
